OTHER PRODUCTS

books_icon

Many of our studies are also books. While the book and study complement each other and cover the same themes, they are not designed to be used simultaneously. The Journal and Leader’s Guide products are designed for the purpose of a guided study.

apparel_icon

For select titles you will find t-shirts, wristbands, artwork or other accessories may be available. We prefer to only create items that we feel will enhance the experience of that study (for example, the not a fan t-shirt has led to many conversations about Jesus and even stories of conversion).

Description

* Recommended for ages 8 to 17.

Each guide has six weeks of content where you and your son or your group will get together to talk about a topic on Biblical manhood and do activities together. Throughout the week, you’ll use this 1 on 1 Guide with your son to share experiences together and take things to a more personal level. Below are the descriptions of each of these guides and their topics:

Embarking: This guide is your starting point in Manhood Journey. It will help you get oriented to five key areas of Biblical manhood – the five “big rocks” we must be sure to pack first on our journey. We discuss the idea that a godly man trusts the Lord, prays fervently, studies God’s word, builds relationships and serves others. This module will get fathers and sons talking with straightforward questions and easy-to-tackle subject matter.

Clean Hearts: Young men can be uniquely challenged in the area of purity – and not just related to sexual temptation. They need to be kept pure from greed, selfishness and other destructive life patterns. This module provides an age-appropriate and safe environment to discuss how men can stay untarnished by the world and be a clean, ready vessel for the Father’s use.

Manhood Myths: We are bombarded with lies from the enemy. They come in some attractive forms and can be disguised behind the veil of honorable pursuits. We can believe that success is defined by our possessions, since, after all, we are just providing for our families. Or, we can justify being unloving by believing the lie of the macho, unfeeling man. In this module, we explore four lies to which men can fall prey, and how to expose them by becoming Bible-smart “lie detectors.”

Leading Lessons: Leadership is a popular topic. For men, it often centers on how to lead a business or sports team. But, as we explore Biblical leadership, we see patterns formed by servant leadership, loving others and putting their needs above your own. We see that leadership equals service. This module explores the power of God in our lives, how leaders should pray, and draws on the deep well of leadership wisdom from the book of Proverbs.

Standing Strong: This life and the enemy throw a lot at men – from pride to temptation to chasing significance through our careers. Standing Strong focuses on tools we can use to defend our ground and advance God’s cause for our lives. It will help empower you to be victorious against the schemes of the evil one. This module concludes with a powerful exercise that will help fathers and sons build a personalized battle plan.

Working Well: Explore God’s design for careers, responsibility, and productivity. Doing rewarding work is a blessing we can help our young men discover. This module is highly relevant for young men, helping them see their schooling and chores as their current “job.” It’s not a career-counseling course, but may help young men – and even some dads! – discover what they want to be when they grow up.
